About 10 years ago I bought a 64 D100 TW with a slant six and flat tires. It had sat or 10 years or more. I changed the oil and poured the oil over the valve train and turned it over by hand a bit and left it for a few days. Rigged a gas can to the fuel line and it started on the second crank!! I drove it home a few blocks away momets later, breaks were even ok and all the lights worked. After some trouble with sticky valve stems (old gumy deposits it the tank) it ran great. Went camping, junking, moved, etc.
