Hello,
My little ol Kobalt air impact just doesn't have the nuts to do what I want it to do as far as breaking loose bolts. I can do more by hand with a 15" break over bar. The Kobalt is rated for 360ft lbs.
My compressor is a sears/craftsman 12 gallon unit. I don't know the CFM rating (the Kobalt calls for 4SCFM I think)but I am getting 125psi...... I have used this same impact on much bigger compressors (80 gal 150 psi) and still didn't get satisfactory results. The impact is properly oiled & honestly barely used. Should I just upgrade to a bolder model? What do you guys recommend?
Since I acquired a much larger vehicle, I am using a lot of 3/4" drive sockets. Should I get one of those giant 3/4" guns?
BTW I have one lug nut that I have bent a 6ft long black iron cheater pipe trying to break free. All the penetrants & bottled heat haven't done much good. And yes I am attempting to turn it the proper direction.
