Seems there are germs in your gut that break the fiber down in to short chain fatty acids, the best heart fuel. Butter has some of those short chain fatty acids (SCFA)too.

And there is even talk of how fecal transplants (Yuck!) from skinny people might help pre-diabetics. Seems to be a good way to get those beneficial germs into your gut. Another instance where sanitation is proving to be un-helpful?

Anyways, I do have a proven metabolic problem, probably directly related to SCFA metabolism. Goes along with my three angioplasties, seven tendon procedures, two back discs, and diabetes. Sound familiar?

So, fiber, butter, and also Coconut oil for all cooking, since it has medium chain fats, half way to SCFAs. AAnd, I've found that wheat protein, especially in "modified food starch", brings on chest pains. Hoping for no more heart procedures for loooong time. It's now been four years since my last angioplasty.

My plan is to be immortal. So far, it is working! ;)
