For some reason this question rarely seems to get answered correctly, a lot of people get confused.

Basically Dodge made 4 tailgates on trucks 1939 and newer (there is so little 1938 and older stuff out there it almost never comes up).

1939-47 2wd (dimensionally the same as the 1951ish 2wd low bed)
1946-50 Power Wagon
1948-58 6 1/2 foot tall bed
1948-58 7 1/2, 8 and 9 foot beds, and all Utilines 1959 and up.

Starting in 1972ish the tailgates lost the DODGE stamp, but the basic gate is the same as the 1959 up gate.

Dimensionally there are only 4 gates. Only two fit on WDX-WM300 Power Wagons, all of those have three hinges.

If you need a gate for any factory Utiline bed on a WDX-WM300 Power Wagon you need to make sure the gate has the third hinge. If not? Don't buy it.

I hope this helps,

Eric
