I had this problem on my 65 3/4 ton dodge with two headlights on each side. The problem was that the ground wire from the headlight bulb goes to this large piece of trim which surrounds the lights, and then that trim has to get grounded to the rest of the body by basically pushing against it tight with maybe the help a sheet metal screw somewhere. For some reason which I don't remember the screws weren't really in a position to ground it very well. Anyway, it just took some sanding and scraping to get things connected. It would be better to take the ground wire from the light bulb and wire it to somewhere solidly on the frame. The whole truck has a lot of wierd electrical problems which probably relate more to the previous owner than to Dodge's design, but that headlight ground scheme looked like a prescription for trouble.
