The governments on local and national levels are always trying to help out their special interests. Kentucky is having governments in Hopkins County (Madisonville) and Davies County (Owensboro) pass restrictive legislation regarding "abandoned" vehicles.
Evansville Indiana also is doing something similar but it is letting contractor call in vehicles to be ticketed as abandoned, which are then towed and sold at auction. I know of one instance where there were 4 rather rough looking vehicles sitting. One was towed and it was the nicest one. When the owner went to get it, it was already gone. I've had a lot of trouble with the zoning Gestapo myself. They've even told me I couldn't sell my own vehicle. I'm still doing it though but not everybody can afford a lawyer.
