Price depends on how complete the truck is. Finding the patient compartment stuff is hard. Heater and pump and spare carrier are pricey and sometimes hard to find. I agree abou the rust-out areas but keep in mind the early M43 had a different sheet metal. It seems as though the later models rusted easier in the weld joints judging by the units I searched out. I bought an nearly intact '52 in excellent shape to restore and am glad I spent the extra money on a rust free and parts complete vehicle. I am spending "quality time" refurbishing rather than replacing. Several other trucks were half the price but needed too many "new " parts to bring up to motorpool status, let alone the sheetmetal work. Some of the patient compartment stuff is very pricey if not hard to find. Word of advice if you are buying to keep milspec...get an intact truck.Remember, its the fun you have on the project. BTW,I spent $4 grand for a smooth running and intact vehicle to start out the project with. Next truck I'll have a little more experience and try a less complete unit. Regards,Mobilized Medic
