During the 1930's through 50's Ford subcontracted with M-H to build their 4 wheel drive trucks from 1/2 ton through their heaviest equipment,(well maybe not the military trucks....).
Likewise GM contracted with NAPCO; Only DODGE/FWD/OSHKOSH produced their own 4 wheelers.
