A clogged fuel filter, which starves fuel.
Crap dislodged by monkeying with the fuel line. All it takes is a small chunk to prevent the needle from seating and you get flooding.
You also moved hoses around. If the distributer advance hose cracked, it could be sucking air. This upsets the mixture on the carb, and it won't allow the distributer to advance, screwing up drivability.
