I have had bad experiences on the potential purchase of items sight unseen. Fortunately for me, I haven't been burned too bad. There was a car on ebay described as rust free. I contacted the seller and he assured me, no rust, no rust ever, no bondo. When I went to get the car it was a rusted out hulk. Lucky for me, my bid was below reserve so I wasn't stuck with it. Just this weekend I drove 300 miles with trailer in tow and an option to buy an 89 Jeep for 2K. It turned out to be a Cherokee junker with a burned up automatic and an engine that didn't run. This is par for the course. Even if the seller is completely honest, it is impossible to judge a car by descriptions or pictures.
If you are serious about buying, go take a look at it first. If it is too far to go, then don't bid on it.
