Very good points. They are using the money we've sent them to buy up natural resources everywhere, including in the US. Any idea how many American owned cement companies there are in America? Zero. If we want to build anything out of concrete in this country, we have to buy American cement from foreign-owned companies. The huge platinum deposit in Montana called the Stillwater Reef is owned by the Russians. On it goes.
You're also right about the technology. I get tired of the talk about keeping the Chinese from getting our military technology, as if we have anything so special that they would want it. Before long, it'll be the US trying to steal Chinese technology, if we're not doing it already. I don't think there'll every be a shooting war on the ground between the US and China, if only because China has no history of overseas conquest and Americans are well armed whereas Chinese are not allowed to own any guns. However, the money has clearly moved from our side of the ocean to theirs and it's not coming back.
