Forget the side latches

and look at the belt line . If the belt line lines up then you do not need to mess with the latches . The belt line needs to line up from front to back . Then think about thedoor gap . The door gap is not great on these things but you want to avoid any binding or rubbing . The hinges may need to be bent or shimmed to do this . Most of these adjustments I do without the latches in place
Now maybe you can mess with the latches on the door frame , they are adjustable . There is a little plate that wiggles around . Of course the plate may have rusted or been painted into place .
Once you have everything working take it out for a drive . the doors will fit perfectly until the first time the truck is taken off road . They will then go back to a position that either causes a squeak , rattle or you have to slam the door to get it to latch .
