Chevy had a huge problem with cams. I problem ended up being in the blocks. The lifter holes were bore on center with the cam lobe. That made the lifter not rotate. Chevy would say it was a cam problem. What they did was replace your cam and then change your valve spring to a lighter one. I ate 3 cams in a 350 before I dug deep enough to fine the problem. I had 115lb. of seat pressure. Changed the block never had another problem. You could look at the block with a cam in it and see the problem if you new what to look for.
