The way I have understood the 203 is that yes its a full-time T-case,but it wont send any power to the front unless you spin a tire.The front shaft should not turn all the time.Thats why the shift lever says Hi/Lo lock.When you lock the T-case in,its just like having any other kind of T-case.Basically the internals of a 203 act like a limited slip unit in a axle.My wife drove her 77 with a 203 and manual hubs on the front 44 and never did have the front shaft turn until the T-case was locked in or the hubs.
