well we use plasma cutters to "cut" holes in chrome/stainless bumpers for lights, they do an awesome job on alot of things,I personally am not very experienced with them but my welder swears by them. but there are some accessories you need to operate them.they have left a very clean edge on all the stuff I have seen.... but not a "machined" edge ALMOST. I suggested the fein site for the amount of stuff available and a home shop do it all perspective. on complex curved/angled/compound work stock qtr panel to roof joints fender radius etc shears can distort the original lines a lot depends on your experience and how you operate the device.spinning cutters (die grinder) will do most all conceivable cuts the diameter of the "wheel" will or should determine the radius of your cut 4" wheel a tighter curve than a 6" wheel but not as tight as a 2" wheel. I have never used a jig saw on metal. Eric
