I live in the foothills of Cen Cal and I get an average of 12 rattlers per year on my property. I have my labs vaccinated with RedRock anti venom and I give them booster shots every year. Many dogs get bit up here anually but very few die. If your dogs are vaccinated, it will possibly save you several hundred dollars. Anti venom dosen't prevent your animals from getting sick but it surely helps them survive a bite.
