You must have been associated with a really screwed up Fire Department. Unfortunately I think it has a lot to do with leadership (or lack there of) and the lack of accountability of the membership to themselves.
The way you guys talk it makes me feel really good about the Seattle Fire Department and Kittitas County FD#7 where I volunteer. We seem to be kicking some major butt over all these other departments in level of service and commitment to the citizens.
