At least in some 1966 Town Wagons. I have found a small number of 1966 W100 Town Wagons with the big knuckle Dana 44. All of them seemed to be from the same Government agency (Dept of Interior) and may have been part of the same order as the trucks were optioned out exactly the same. They all had V8s, 4spds, big knuckle 44s, 1 ton U-joints, winches, and side mounted turn signals. They were all painted that light grey color. I have also heard of 1 possibly 2 regular cab W200s with the big knuckle.

But in general, the answer is no, 99% of the 1961-68 W100s I have seen have the 3000 lb small knuckle Dana 44.

Eric
