Kevin, if memory serves me right the date on the ID tag is earlier then the date of delivery in the id tag on the glove box. How much earlier, I can not guess at, other then logically, I would guess two to three months earlier. If the man that replied to you could check his glove box date of delivery that would help us all. I have always been curious myself about the legnth of time inbetween. Unfortunately the ID tag on the bed on my WC4 is a repro and is not dated. But it is in the location Rick Sultan stated, first stake pocket closest to the cab on the drivers side, facing the cab, and I think the lettering is upright as you read it facing the bed. In other words stand at the cab, drivers side, and tilt your head right so that the right side of your head is closests to the ground. I had a bed off a wc12 I sold and I kept the tag and it was mounted that way.
