On old truck like this it is best to check out all brake parts. Take the wheel cylinders out and check them for rust and pitting. Check the rubber parts also. I strongly suggest that you replace them.

The key point to remember on these trucks. Any failure of a wheel cylinder will result in the total loss of brakes. This is because there is only 1 master cylinder reservoir for all 4 wheels. If one wheel cylinder fails and looses its fluid it will drain the master cylinder reservoir and all brakes will then fail due to the lack of brake fluid. That is why all new cars have 2 reservoirs in their master cylinders. One for the front and one for the rear brakes. This is so if the front or rear brake system fails you still have brakes to stop with.
