Question about brass...

The beer truck took it's noble first place in class again at Wheaton Village fire muster this Sunday (yay!) Alot of time spent cleaning the brass equipment though. Has anyone ever cleaned brass to perfection, and then sprayed it with clear coat? Just wondering if it still tarnishes afterward.
