Leon, it was built along the same lines as the 413. The 361 is a B-block engine, meaning that it has a shorter stroke and lower deck height than the 413 RB. Of course, the whole rotating assembly is different and naturally the bore is also different. Rod bearings interchange, main bearings will not. Exhaust manifolds are the same and so are the heads, but the difference in deck height makes a few items different and non interchangeable with the 413. Pushrod length is different. Intake manifold is a narrower overall width. They still used the 413 distributor, but they had a spacer between the distributor and the block to compensate for the difference in deck height. Oiling systems are the same, rocker assemblies are the same, cam and timing gear setup are also the same. The 361 industrial/truck engine was commonly found in Dodge 800s with the swing-out fenders. The Dodge 1000s had 413s and diesels usually. Also, the 361 and 413 engine blocks in the industrial/truck series were used in marine application as well. The 361s also had two different cranks available like the 413 did, one with standard 6 bolt flange like the car application, and one with an extended 8 bolt flange for heavy truck.
