265 Industrial motor question

I got a new (old) Hobart welder and it has a 265 Crysler flat head,
The fuel pump was missing and the trusty electric was in place.
I looked in the PIF and found this info

Mechanical Fuel Pump = 251/265 Engine NAPA M847

I picked one up put it broke one of the tabs on the cam arm and quit working.
Question I have is this the pump every one else uses for the 265, did I just get a cheep one?
