I think I might have a dwell meter at my parents house but I honestly have never used one. My limited points experience has been that if I set the gap and the points are new it seems to work pretty well, on my M37 I swithced to the pertronix before swapping to a compression ignition engine. The points are new but I did not replace them I may have to investigate the points further.
