First test of my door handle and latch modification and it WORKS . I went for rotary latches made in the states . I think they are the ones that have been copied buy the bear paw , jaw , claw manufactures .
The inside handle realeases the door latch without turning the outside handle.
The out side handle release the latch without turning the inside handle .
Still need to install and engineer a lock - from outside is the tough part . Then get the striker pin installed in the door frame .
I moved the handle up into the reveal on the door to get this mess to work . looks stock . Managed to have the square shaft from the outside handle to clear the window and be supported on the inside of the door assemble and not just the skin .
Way to many hours engineering this . Knowing what I know now I would have replaced the darn old latches with some NOS ones or repaired the old ones .
