I once saw a pinto jammed under the rear wheels of a semi trailer on the I-5 ship can.al bridge. Nobody found out whether the driver didn't see the semi, or he thought he could make a quick double-lane change underneath the trailer. He was flattened along with the pinto. But no, the pinto's gas tank didn't explode.
