I had long thought what you are suggesting. I live in a rural are and have now had high speed for some years.

I was surprised that no one yet has indicated they are on a dial up.

I am not suggesting that high resolution images are needed for viewing on a computer. When shared for other purposes, however, they are quite valuable. Cropping, for example, or examining details.

Hardly anything worse than receiving digital images of a truck you are thinking of buying, only to discover as you zoom in to examine that critical detail the image is too poor to support it. The detail becomes mud.

My current frustration with the advance of technology is that my browser won't run an increasing number of sites. I can't upgrade the browser because my computer hardware won't accept a sufficient operating system to run the newest browsers.

I will have to cope with change at some point, since it is coming to sharp focus.
