my problem; i purchased a reproduction first series tailgate. after adjusting fit, the chain holes do not line up well.
what i noticed is an offset punched hole in the part attached to the bed and an opposite offset on the part on the reproduction bed. they do not line up well. checking some original tailgates i have i noticed the first series tailgate has the offset and it is in the correct direction. i also checked a second series original tailgate i have and the offset is there and correct also. my question; do the original third series have the offset? and if they do are they the same direction as the part attached to the bed?
