OK, aparently you fellows weren't buying a lot of new trucks in the early 60s.
Back then if you wanted a van, you went to the dealer, ordered up the chassi set up the way you wanted, and specified which body builder the chassi was sent to for completion if you wanted aluminum coachwork.
GM offered a complete chassi completed only to the windshield base for those who wanted custom coachwork till 68 or later.
Honestly I doubt that truck was ever built as a camper by a factory. Far more likely it was converted to a camper by an owner, possibly even on Uncle Sugar's tax dollar if the owner was clever enough to slip it out of a fleet.
