If possible for you, it would be good to try and buy a truck from a dry climate. The best trucks often come from a desert area due to rust issues.
Trucks from wetter climates often have a lot of rust to deal with. Sheet metal is not easy to find for these trucks, so if the sheet metal is rusted bad you often have to become a good welder to rebuild areas. Don't ask me how I know first hand, haha.
