Brakes-Fixed, 57 FFPW

When I put my truck together a few years back, I bought a new master cylinder from ____. The brakes on long trips (15 to 20 mile) have always gotten tight, brakes light would stay on, the brake peddle would get rock hard, until the brakes had time to cool down. So I took the MC apart and there was a extra rubber washer that was behind the tension clip that holds the piston in place. It would not allow the brake fluid back into the reservoir. Allow that pressure to be building up in the brake lines. The MC was bought about 8 to 9 years ago from_____. So it could be a problem with many of the MC that was sold in that time frame.

The brakes still want lock the tires up on hard ground, I will start to work on that this week end. But the brake pedal is working good and no more hard peddle and brake lights that stay on.

Thanks for your input last week. I hope this will help.
