If you open the system (and you'll need to to flush out the old oil) make sure you put in a new dryer.
Be warned, the older systems, even if running perfectly will not always perform as on R134 as they did on R12, the way the two gasses transfer heat is different and the older condenser and evaporator may not be as efficient on the new gas.
