1. Blown headgasket
2. Too narrow a gap on the points
3. Valves out of adjustment
4. Weak coil
5. Shorted plug wires. Check in the dark for sparks
6. Bad cap/rotor
7. Intake manifold air leak
8. I ran out of what could cause it
