The other one I've heard of is the Spicer 3053a. I was leaning toward this myself as someone was making a lower overdrive gear for them, which might work a little better with the tall gearing in the PW.

I know Charles Talbert uses that tranny in his rebuilds. With the ears on some SAE 3 bell housings I think he even designed adaptors that bolt to the stock location.

Biggest problems I've seen are figuring out the clutch setup, and that the tranny is rather heavy and has a slightly unusual shift pattern.

Charles at M-series would be one option if you wanted a turn-key retrofit, but I agree with Paul, I'm not even that good at the welding part and I'm pretty sure I can figure this out (with a lot of help from places like this)!
