don't know for sure but, I did find another one like it in a museum online and they say "circa 1940's" so who knows! but yes I believe you are right that it was the Army Air Core until after the war so maybe it was made shortly after?, you can look up the number one the bag on the net and the museum page comes up in the search. we need an expert here!! would be cool to find out when exactly it was made
