I have to agree with Gordon here - I would suspect valves if they didn;t have hardened seats installed.
Rebuild a set of heads and swap them. If you need more, rebuild the whole danged thing. I've seen too many half done jobs that move the stress to the weakest link that fails shortly.
Having just put an engine trans into place, I'll say it isn't worth the minimal savings to do it twice.
