THEN: one thing to mention also is that when I had the engine apart last time I put in a different set of lifters and a different cam from a donor motor. the motor in the truck had some broken pushrods before, I figured it was from lack of adjustment of valve lash and she was smoking quite a bit.
NOW with the pushrods replaced,different lifters and cam (matched set but not brand new) valve timing set COLD and HOT she doesn't seem to really smoke at all but runs very rough at idle, and almost wont idle, but seems to run better at higher RPM's but does sound like it's missing, or something................think I'll try the coil and ECM first......then on to the rest of the list like the bleed down test etc. i'll keep you guys posted, and thanks so much for the good suggestions
