Thanks Copey, what I want to be able to do is hacksaw and grind the plate steel that is welded on to the original frame and get it off, since I can see the weld on the top of the frame to the reinforcement piece I assume it is also welded to the bottom rail. In other words the plate steal looks to be welded on the bottom and top of the original reinforcement frame riveted to the main frame not to the main frame but how much heat damage only the experts would know. I'm kind of thinking that since the frames on these(6x6) are pretty solid looks to be twice the thickness of the ff plus they are also reinforced on top of that which is what this particular plate steel is welded to I may be ok.
