My 1961 Town Wagon had a 360 v8 with the stock 4 speed. I now have a 4bt with an nv4500 5 speed. The pick-up and acceleration are very similar. The power is also comparable. The mileage is three times greater with the 4bt than the 360. That said, I'll have to drive the conversion for about 30 years to reach the break even point money wise. Would I do another one? Already in the planning stage. Hope this helps.
