There might be some kind of advantage to a centered diff. but,nothing I read in your comments except the spare shaft made any real worthwhile impression for going to a centered diff..
Lets start with #2.?How would power transmission be improved?And without going through gears you lose your gear reduction capability for 4wd low-range,a big price to pay for a little less noise.
#1.The driveshaft angle reduction statement is somewhat misleading in that it just goes without saying when you move the diff. to the center then the transfer output end over to the center position there will be no increase in angle of the driveshaft.As is the offset diff. and current transfer output position would put the driveshaft at aprox.
the same angle as would be a centered diff. feed by a centered driveshaft.Give us something real with substance that we could justify such a change as worthwhile.
