That's because those VW's just keep cycling back. Just look at that new Bug, what a cute car. On a more serious note:
Does the VW sending unit come set to send 0-240ohms? That is the specs required for your trucks gauge. Go to a wrecking yard and pickup a VW gauge, see if you have the same problem, if not, won't work with the truck gauge. If problem continues, bad sending unit. Also is the earlier VW positive ground?
