Tranny/transfer case/axle lube

I'm in the process of rebuilding my '49 PW tranny. A few years ago, I think I remember seeing gear oil with teflon (PTFE, Slick 50, etc.). I haven't looked to see if this stuff is still available, but if it is, does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not it's good to use in trucks like ours? Is it really any better? Will it be more likely to leak past gaskets and seals?

How about other additives for gear boxes?
