Has anyone put a 3.9 l V-6...the cut down 318 engine, with a 5 speed in a WDX style Power Wagon? I wondered if this would simplify the installation because the engine is shorter than a 318 and thus might not have the same clearance problems with steering box, exhaust etc.
Also, I wondered if this would facilitate the use of the 5 speed that goes with it. Being shorter, maybe the 5 speed could still be made to fit.
I realize this is not like having a V8, but even a modestly more powerful engine coupled with a synchro 5 speed with overdrive sounds good to me.
Has anyone done this?
