thought that the was no resistor and that will cook out points > i would check with a voltmeter at the coil first before you start cutting wires 9 to 10 volts is what you should have with the key on > the should be another wire called a by/for by passing the resister while cranking at the coil > this wire comes from the soleniod is ONLY live when the starter is cranked > when cranking as voltage DROPS when cranking that keeps the voltage constantly at 9 .6 volts > I would check further to see that the conversion included a 12 V coil and condenser and i would check the out put of the Generator /alternator to be safe ~ Copey r
