the longer 237-251-265 is a superior engine. build one up as a 237 for the best revving. the rods are not offset. find a stock 2bbl manifold and split the stock exhaust. do a carter 2bbl carb, a gm alternator and an electronic ignition and enjoy trouble free miles. the slight increase in hp and the ability to rev for longer periods makes it a good swap. its fairly straight forward and you can sneak the radiator up a bit and make it work with the stock nose. sorry to hear about the engine...
