My brother Frank calls me and says the brackets that the tcase hangs off are bronze? '46 WDX, ever seen these, maybe left over from the war? Magnet does not stick to them. Another friend said iron kills rubber, that's why the insulators are always rock hard, but Franks are still soft. Just asking, I haven't seen his without 60 years of crud on them, and never heard the iron/rubber myth either.
