There was one farm stead last year, that popped up for sale, 9 acres two pretty big buildings, one was a 40x70 Quonset hut, the other building was a 28x40 shop, both had concrete floors. It also had a few other smaller out buildings. The house was not much good at all, and IMO it should have been burned down. It sold for $8,500

I don't know of any other places right off. I tried to buy the little farm stead just south of my place last year, it was not even on the market, it sold word of mouth, it is 7.5 acres, and a 40x80 Quonset hut with concrete floor. The house was a mess, and the new owner burned it down, he uses the Quonset for his tractors. I was told it sold for under $7,000 I told him if he EVER wants to sell it to let me know, he said he would. He lives in town, but farms most of the ground around my house.

Most of the empty farm steads around here, that I have asked if they are for sale or not, the farmers tell me "well I dont know,,, I think we better hang on to it for now". Most the older farmers either dont live in them because they have moved to town, or they live out of the area.

There is a nice little farm just north of my place, that no one has lived in since the late 1970's,, I know who owns it, but they dont want to sell it. He uses the buildings to store his tractors in. The house on that place is pretty nice yet. They put a new steel roof on it a few years back. I am just buying my time until it is for sale. I think it could be a nice little house with a little work. It would be a nice place for me to live, once the wife kicks me out for having to many old trucks,,;-))
