So the big trip was a big problem. Apparently the truck grew accustom to living in a nice garage, and its form of rebellion was blowing a brake hose while towing 5klbs. NOT FUN. I was trying to be nice and pull over to let the line of cars pass, and my buddy (following to bring me home) pulled in behind me, the peddle went to the floor, and I reached for the brake lever, pulled and shoved the tranny in 1. Still managed to crunch the shinny front bumper of his silverado. I threw in the towel, but to spite the truck, called a tow truck and had it towed to my property to sit in the field to think about what he did. A brake line is not a huge deal and I will get to it next weekend, but it is going at the back of a long todo list. The winter has been hard up there, and I have plenty to do, including fixing two flats on the backhoe, rebuilding the pump shed that took flight (no witch underneath), and plenty of other work. This summer will determine if the truck is worth keeping, if not, clear some space in the for sale section.
