Doc says he has hard bones. He is still in the recovery room, may still be loopy from the gas for a couple days at his age. It was an intertrochanteric break, fixed with a gamma nail and cross screw. Very mild break, Xrays didn't even seem displaced to my amateur eyes. They'll have him up on it in the morning, none too soon for him I'm sure.
He heals so fast it amazes me. Though the Doc says that's the way many oldsters are, or they wouldn't have made it that long. Next stop is an extended care facility for PT an hour a day for one week minimum. That means he'll be ready to go square dancing again next Sunday. ;) I may have to put a harness on him to hold him back.
