Russ, I have a lockout switch on my '98. I had a triple disc torque converter and a stronger valve body installed because I plow snow with it. I have plans to install a Jacobs or PacBrake someday. When my truck slows down to under 40mph, there is almost no resistance from the transmission. There is a little more resistance when the lockout switch is engaged, but not much. It feels almost as if it goes into neutral. I was told this was for greater fuel economy in traffic. It behaves way different than the C6 auto in my old Ford.
